The comp girls are taking control
15 July 2016
Accountants now run education, justice, equality, women and culture in Theresa May’s new government. And, they all went to the local comp too!
Elizabeth Truss is a management accountant who worked for Shell and Cable & Wireless. She is the first female Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice.
Justine Greening trained with PwC before working for Centrica and GlaxoSmithKline. Her education remit has been enlarged to include universities. She apparently becomes the first education secretary to have been wholly taught at a comprehensive school. She also becomes minister for women and equalities.
Finally there is chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser Karen Bradley who is the new Culture Secretary. She has worked at both Deloitte and KPMG.
