3 the magic number
15 July 2016
Three is still the magic number for ICAEW professional students who want to pass their exams, according to the latest June results.
The highest pass rates this summer were achieved by PQs who had opted to sit three exam papers – 79.4%. In comparison just 71.9% of trainees sitting one paper passed. What not to do is sit four papers. Three PQs decided this was the right number. While one student passed all four appers the other two candidates failed all four!
June saw the first sitting of the new Business Planning: Banking and Business Planning: Insurance modules, and although the number were low the pass rates were 91.2% and 87.5% respectively.
ACA students also excelled in Tax Compliance (88%), and Business Strategy (89%).
PwC dominated the list of prize winners, picking up six of the nine prizes. It’s Mihir Patel came top in both the Audit & Assurance and Financial Accounting papers.
