FTSE directors 'given' 49% rise, but why...
28 October 2011
Earnings related to performance - you are joking!
Time maybe to get your tent and start thinking about camping outside this winter in central London! Directors at the FTSE companies really did see their salaries soar by nigh on 50% last year. So how does that work? The FTSE 100 share price rose by 3.9% during 2010-11 yet the club gave themsleves massive pay rises. What is interesting is that finance directors weren't as well 'paid off' as the rest of the board. The FDs average increase was just 34%n while other directors saw their pay packes go up by 66% to £2.3m.
