Demand for ACA NQs is still outstripping supply, according to a leading recruitment consultancy. The shortage of qualifying ACA, created through a reduction of intakes in 2008, will lead to continuing pressure in the market and drive salary inflation.
Many firms are struggling to quickly fill certain posts, such as financial control, financial analysis and internal audit. Another trend is the move in the temp market away from hourly paid to fixed term contracts. The consultants suggested that although these contracts carry greater risk for companies they do address their desire not to commit to permanent hires in the current climate.
