KPMG to cut UK staff headcount

KPMG has emailed its UK staff to tell them about plans to make up to 3% of them redundant.
The cuts mean hundreds of redundancies, and the fear is other Big 4 firms could follow suite.
PQ magazine understands that the redundancy review will not include partners, but will include audit.
In the email KPMG said: “Clearly, any redundancy situation is regrettable – and KPMG will make every effort to redeploy individuals within the firm whose roles are ‘at risk’”.
A spokesman confirmed that this year’s intake is unaffected, so the firm will be taking on 650 graduates and 150 school leavers this month. PQs on standard graduate qualification programme will not be affected by the current redundancy proposals either.
