Accountants not to blame

Accountancy rules were not the to blame for the current financial crisis, but the weakness in the application of rules has reduced the creditability of financial reporting, says a leading international report from the Financial Crisis Advisory Group. The group was set-up by the US and International Accounting Standards Boards and has just released its wide-ranging review of standard-setting activities.
