Justify the hike

ACCA’s summer increases in exam and exemption fees has been lambasted by many of its students. From 16 August fees were increased, by in some cases, by a whopping 10%.

Many students were taken aback by such a large hike (see our letter’s page) and said it was ‘bad news all-round’, particularly for those overseas or unsupported by employers. One practical Pakistani student said that the best advice he could give fellow
Some students is to qualify as quickly as possible.
The importance of employer support was key said PQs. “As long as you pass first time the rises don’t affect you,” said one student.
Other students pointed out in a global recession and increased unemployment the ACCA should think more about its customers – the students. “They just treat us as cash cows,” a student told PQ.
