How taxing are tax exams?

ATT exam results show that some 71% of sitters achieved a pass in the papers they attempted last November.
In all some 1,994 papers were sat and 1,416 passes were achieved. ATT President David Stedman was pleased at the high numbers of tax students benefiting from the flexibility of the modular exam structure.
All those who have completed the examination requirements, there are 351 in all, will be invited to the new members’ reception at the House of Lords.
ATT CERTIFICATE PASS RATES (November 09):
Personal Taxation - 80.2%;
Business Taxation & Accounting Principles – 68.9%;
Business Tax:
Higher Skills – 35%;
IHT, Trusts & Estates – 78%;
VAT – 76.2%;
Business Compliance – 74.5%;
Practice Administration – 69.6%
