FD jailed for defrauding Dragons' Den star
10 November 2015
FD Christopher Watson has been jailed for 4 years and 8 months after admitting defrauding businesses owned by Duncan Bannatyne of nearly £8m.
Watson, who earned £85,000 a year, used the cash to cover betting debts. He owed one bookmaker £5.4m - that is some credit line!
Watson also used the money to buy several properties.
In a court statement the Dragons' Den star, Bannatyne, said at one point he wanted to increase staff wages but was told by Watson his companies didn't have the cashflow!
