Just a bunch of moaners!

Feedback from the December 2008 AAT exams

AAT exam sitters have been accused of being a bunch of moaning whingers – by their fellow students. Some PQs felt that to claim the AAT was 'breaching their human rights' to a professional qualification was a step too far! Students should expect the exams to be testing and time-consuming, they were told – they are supposed to be a test. "Everyone should just stop moaning," said one AAT.
Some of that moaning might have been justified, however, as the AAT has admitted one exam venue was closed due to 'extreme weather conditions'. The affected candidates will be re-entered for the June 2009 exams, without further cost. Some students felt that wasn't good enough. Surely they have a spare paper for students to sit, said one sitter. He was sure that this is what happened with other professional bodies.
Another student explained they couldn't get to an exam hall because a motorway was shut. Even allowing for extra time there was no way they could get to the centre. "Now I am a no-show and a failure," she said.
Some students were surprised with the new layout of the PCR paper and the ECR exam was deemed by more than one AAT PQ as 'horrendous'. Some students also believe the AAT took down the student forum as the comments got 'too hot'.
