Tea breaks or training – you decide
03 June 2016
An AAT study has found a shocking 30% of finance staff have never had any form of work-related finance training. That has led to 38% of employees in the finance industry searching online to find out how to do their job better, in their free time. In effect that means many employees are spending more time on tea breaks than on any form of work-based training!
It appears many managers are still concerned that if they train staff they will leave, however AAT data shows that not providing any training is a bigger risk to staff turnover.
AAT CEO, Mark Farrar, said it was worrying that such a tiny percentage of UK employees are spending their hours in work improving their skills through formal training.
